Apple Readies M6 iMac with Fresh Colors for Late 2026 Launch

Apple is gearing up to refresh its 24-inch iMac lineup later this year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman reports that the company is preparing new models featuring upgraded silicon alongside new color options.

The upcoming release is expected to be a direct successor to the current M4 iMac, which debuted in October 2024. Gurman indicates that the new machines will likely be powered by Apple's next-generation M6 chip, marking a standard generational leap for the all-in-one desktop.

While specific hues remain under wraps, Apple is reportedly planning to introduce new color choices to the lineup. The existing iMac is already available in seven finishes: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. It remains to be seen whether Apple will replace current shades or expand the palette further.

Don't expect a dramatic redesign, however. Gurman notes that the new models will carry over the same overall look and form factor. For those hoping for a more radical visual overhaul, an OLED-equipped 24-inch iMac is reportedly in development, though that launch is still several years away.

"All signs point to an M6 model being imminent," Gurman writes, with the refreshed iMac expected to hit shelves before the end of 2026.
