HeyWhatsNew: Panasonic Unveils Lumix L10 Compact Camera, and Forza Horizon 6 Leaks Days Before Launch

Welcome back, Heyuppers! Here are some of the latest tech and gaming stories that caught our attention this week, starting from 11/05/2026.
Panasonic Launches New Lumix L10 Compact Camera for Photographers
Panasonic has announced the new Panasonic Lumix L10, a compact camera made mainly for photography instead of video content creation. The camera comes in black and silver for $1,499.99, with a special limited-edition titanium gold version available for $1,599.99 to celebrate 25 years of the Lumix brand. It has a lightweight retro-style design with a metal body and leather-like texture for a more premium feel.
The L10 uses the same 20.4MP sensor as the Panasonic Lumix GH7 and includes a built-in 24-75mm Leica lens with strong low-light performance. While it can record 4K video at up to 120fps, Panasonic designed the camera more for taking photos than long video shoots. It also includes a fast autofocus system with AI subject tracking that can recognize people, animals, and vehicles, along with macro support that lets users focus on subjects from as close as 3cm away.
Google Reveals New Android Features, AI Tools, and Googlebook Laptops
At its Android Show: I/O Edition event, Google announced a wide range of new AI-powered features and Android updates. One of the biggest reveals was the new Googlebook laptop series, built around Gemini AI and launching later this year through partners like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Google also introduced “Create My Widget,” a feature that lets users build custom Android widgets using simple text prompts, along with refreshed Android Auto features including customizable dashboards, better media apps, and Gemini voice support for hands-free help while driving.
Google also expanded Gemini’s capabilities across Android, Chrome, and apps. New agentic AI features will allow Gemini to complete tasks across multiple apps, such as building shopping carts from grocery lists or finding events from flyers. Android users will also get upgraded security protections, easier iPhone-to-Android transfers, improved file sharing with iPhones, and a new Gboard dictation tool called Rambler that automatically cleans up spoken text. Additional updates include redesigned 3D emojis, creator-focused tools for video recording and photo editing, and new digital wellbeing features that help users pause before opening distracting apps.
Canvas Parent Company Reaches Deal With Hackers After Major Data Breach
Instructure, the parent company behind the Canvas education platform, said it reached an agreement with hackers following a cyberattack that disrupted schools and universities during final exam season. The company said the stolen data was returned and that the hackers provided “digital confirmation” that remaining copies were deleted, although Instructure admitted there is no guarantee the data has been permanently erased. The company did not reveal whether a ransom payment was involved or identify the attackers.
The hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for the breach, which reportedly affected nearly 9,000 schools and 275 million individuals worldwide. According to Instructure, the exposed data may have included student names, email addresses, ID numbers, and messages on Canvas, but there was no evidence that passwords, financial details, or government IDs were compromised. The temporary shutdown of Canvas caused major disruptions for students and teachers who rely on the platform for assignments, grades, exams, and course materials.
Sony Tells GTA 6 Fans to Upgrade to PS5 Before Launch
Sony is reportedly sending messages to PlayStation 4 users who added Grand Theft Auto VI to their wishlist, reminding them that the game will only be playable on PlayStation 5. Some users received notifications saying, “Grand Theft Auto VI is on your wishlist. Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready,” along with QR codes linking directly to PS5 upgrade options.
The messages have sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans criticized Sony for encouraging upgrades shortly after raising console prices, while others took the notifications as a sign that GTA 6’s rumored November 19, 2026 release date is still on track. Since GTA 6 will not launch on PS4, players wanting to experience the game at release will need to move to newer hardware like the PS5.
Forza Horizon 6 Leaks Online Days Before Official Release
Forza Horizon 6 has reportedly leaked online ahead of its May 19, 2026 launch after developer Playground Games accidentally released an unencrypted preload build through Steam. According to reports, dataminers quickly accessed the 155GB game files, and playable leaked versions soon appeared in piracy communities. However, players testing the leaked build say several online features do not work properly and the game crashes after the first race.
The upcoming racing game takes players to Japan and includes over 550 cars, dynamic weather systems, deeper customization options, and locations inspired by Tokyo and Mount Fuji. Despite the leak, excitement around the game remains high, with more than 500,000 reported Steam pre-orders ahead of launch. Neither Microsoft nor Playground Games has officially commented on the situation, but there is speculation that players accessing the game early could face hardware bans similar to those used in previous Forza titles against cheating and modding.
That covers this week’s highlights, Heyuppers! More updates, launches, and surprises coming your way soon.
