Ferrari F80 (2025): A 1,200 HP V6 Hybrid Supercar, Priced at $3.9 million

Ferrari has unveiled the F80, a hybrid model producing 1,200 horsepower thanks to a 3.0-liter V6 and advanced electric architecture. This vehicle is part of the limited series of 799 units, adding to the legendary lineage of Ferrari supercars, such as the F40 and the LaFerrari. Ferrari F80 (2025) is already sold out.

The F80's design draws inspiration from aeronautics and motorsport, with an aerodynamic body optimized to maximize performance. Its taut lines, imposing air intakes, and sculpted surfaces reflect an extreme search for aerodynamic efficiency. The car generates up to 1,000 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, thanks to solutions such as the active rear wing and diffuser that work in symbiosis with active suspensions.

The interior, oriented towards the driver, adopts a “1+” layout to maximize space while preserving ergonomics. The “1+” refers to the number of seats available inside the car, similar to the “2+2” of the Porsche 911.

The cockpit is characterized by a minimalist and functional approach, similar to that of racing single-seaters. The steering wheel, inspired by F1, offers a series of touch controls to optimize the driving experience. The passenger seat, slightly offset to the rear, helps to reduce the interior width without compromising comfort.

The F80 features a completely redesigned active suspension, racing-derived CCM-R Plus brake discs, and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The new torque vectoring management allows for optimum grip, even at high speeds. The Ferrari-exclusive “Boost Optimization” mode maximizes power on specific sections of the circuit, adapting to the driver’s needs in real-time.

The heart of the F80 is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine developing 900 horsepower on its own, to which 300 horsepower are added thanks to a hybrid system. This engine adopts technologies such as the "e-turbo" which reduces the response time while maintaining exceptional power at high revs.

The engine block, designed in Inconel© to optimize lightness and thermal management, allows the F80 to reach 9000 rpm with a dynamic limiter at 9200 rpm. The engine combines two electric motors on the front axle and a rear motor for all-wheel drive, bringing the total power to 1200 horsepower.

The hybrid system uses a 2.28 kWh high-voltage battery, developed in-house by Ferrari, with an architecture inspired by F1. This battery can deliver 242 kW and is designed to offer maximum power while being lightweight (39.3 kg). Energy is recovered during braking thanks to a DC/AC inverter system integrated into the front axle, while SiC (silicon carbide) technology improves energy conversion efficiency.

Produced in just 799 units, the Ferrari F80 is positioned as an ultra-exclusive model, whose price could exceed $3.9 million depending on the customization options. Its marketing will begin in 2025, with order books already filled by the brand's most loyal customers.
