Leaked: X2D II 100C Pictured with New XCD 35-100mm f/2.8-4 Zoom Lens

New images have surfaced online, offering another glimpse at the upcoming Hasselblad X2D II 100C medium format camera. A blog post published by the tech outlet Photorumors on August 23rd shared a new photo showcasing the camera body paired with what appears to be a new XCD 35-100mm f/2.8-4 lens, fueling speculation ahead of an official announcement.

According to previous reports, the camera is built around a formidable 100-megapixel Back-Side Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor. This sensor boasts a native ISO of 50, supports 16-bit color depth, and offers an impressive 15.3 stops of dynamic range. It also features the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) HDR technology, designed to deliver true-to-life colors and rich detail by preserving highlights.

Beyond image quality, the X2D II 100C introduces significant performance upgrades. It will reportedly feature a new continuous autofocus (AF-C) system and a powerful 10-stop, 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS). This level of stabilization will enable photographers to capture sharp, long-exposure shots handheld, without the need for a tripod.

In terms of design, the Hasselblad X2D II 100C continues the brand's minimalist aesthetic with a new graphite gray matte finish. The body is said to be 7.5% lighter than its predecessor and features a redesigned grip for better handling. User interface improvements include a 3.6-inch tilting OLED screen that is 75% brighter, a new 5D joystick, and customizable buttons for quick access to settings.

With all these details surfacing, the wait will not be long. Hasselblad has already announced a launch event for 8:00 PM on August 26th. All signs point to this event being the official unveiling of the highly anticipated X2D II medium format camera and its accompanying new lens.
