Logitech G Unveils Its First 8K Custom Mechanical Gaming Keyboard: The G316 X

Logitech G has officially entered the custom mechanical keyboard market, launching its first-ever 8K custom mechanical gaming keyboard, the G316 X, on August 19th. This new keyboard features a compact 98-key layout and a wired, detachable USB-C connection with a blazing-fast 8KHz polling rate.

The Logitech G316 X is engineered with a "planar integrated" Gasket mount structure secured by buckles, a popular choice among enthusiasts for its softer typing feel. To enhance acoustics, it incorporates a four-layer sound-absorbing system, including upper sound-dampening foam, a switch pad, lower sound-dampening foam, and a silicone base pad. Uniquely, this silicone pad features "sound-tuning particles" under each key, designed to provide an excellent rebound and a refined sound profile.

At the heart of the G316 X are Logitech G's specially tuned "Nut Sound" mechanical switches, offered in both tactile and linear versions (though only the linear option is available at launch). These switches are paired with a proprietary anti-shake algorithm to ensure smooth keystrokes, rapid rebound, and solid feedback. The keyboard comes equipped with durable ABS double-shot keycaps and a PCB that supports full-key, full-switch hot-swapping, allowing for extensive user customization.

The G316 X boasts full-key RGB backlighting, further enhanced by a vibrant LIGHTSYNC light strip positioned between the Fn row and the keys below. In the top-right corner, a dedicated media control area features a convenient control knob and a retro-style LED dot-matrix screen for a unique aesthetic touch. For ergonomic comfort, the keyboard features detachable feet, allowing users to easily adjust between 4-degree and 8-degree typing angles.
