Redmi Announces Its First-Ever Over-Ear ANC Headphones, Launching This Month
Xiaomi's Redmi brand has officially announced its entry into the over-ear headphone market with its first-ever active noise-canceling (ANC) model. The new headphones are confirmed for release this month, with pre-orders now open and in-store demos available for customers to experience firsthand.
This launch follows the release of the REDMI Headphones Neo in overseas markets in May, a model that appears to share several key specifications with this upcoming domestic release. The Neo was introduced with a price of 6,980 JPY (approximately $45 USD), setting a precedent for what could be an aggressively priced product.
The headphones feature an ergonomic design with breathable earcups for extended comfort. The headband, which sports the REDMI logo, is adjustable to ensure a secure fit. While the overseas model was available in black and white, promotional materials suggest that the domestic version may introduce an additional color option.

At the core of the audio experience are 40mm dynamic drivers, which have received Hi-Res Audio certification, promising high-fidelity sound. The standout feature is the active noise cancellation, which is rated to reduce ambient noise by up to 42dB. For clear communication, the headphones are also equipped with a 3-microphone array that uses AI for call noise reduction. Furthermore, users will be able to customize the sound profile through EQ adjustments on their smartphone.

Battery life is another impressive highlight, with the headphones offering up to 72 hours of playback on a single charge. They also support fast charging, providing 5 hours of listening time from just a 10-minute charge, making them highly convenient for users on the go.
With its first foray into the over-ear noise-canceling headphone category, Redmi is positioning itself as a strong contender. By combining premium features like 42dB ANC, Hi-Res Audio, and extensive battery life, this new release is poised to be a compelling option for consumers seeking high performance without a premium price tag.
