Xiaomi Announces REDMI Buds 8: Launching April 21 with 50dB Wide-Band Noise Cancellation

Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date for its latest true wireless earphones, the REDMI Buds 8. The new audio device is set to be unveiled on April 21st, sharing the stage with the new K90 Max smartphone. The earbuds are already generating buzz with promises of high-end features, including powerful noise cancellation and superior audio hardware.

The headline feature for the REDMI Buds 8 is its advanced active noise cancellation (ANC) technology. The company has revealed that the earbuds will support an impressive 50dB of noise reduction across a wide 4kHz frequency band. This is paired with an 11mm high-performance dynamic driver unit, which is engineered to deliver rich, high-fidelity sound for an immersive listening experience.

From the official poster, we can see the design of the new product. The REDMI Buds 8 will be available in three colors: black, white, and cyan. They feature a classic in-ear design for a snug fit and passive noise isolation, housed in a sleek, rounded charging case that emphasizes portability and modern aesthetics.

In addition to audio quality, Xiaomi is focusing on an enhanced user experience. The Buds 8 will feature an upgraded connectivity suite for more stable and seamless pairing. A standout smart feature is a new map-based location finder, which will help users track down their earbuds if they get lost, adding a practical layer of security.

For context, the REDMI Buds 8 Pro, which was released in January, was priced at 399 yuan and featured 55dB noise cancellation, a 5kHz ultra-wide frequency coverage, a coaxial triple-driver setup, and support for independent spatial audio and Dolby Audio. The new Buds 8 will likely aim to offer a competitive package in this successful product line.

The REDMI new product launch conference is scheduled for 7 PM on April 21st. Alongside the REDMI Buds 8, the event will also showcase the REDMI K90 Max smartphone and the K Pad 2, a performance-oriented compact tablet. More details on all products will be revealed during the event.
