Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus Launches Globally with a Focus on Stability and Range

Xiaomi has officially debuted its new Electric Scooter 5 Plus, with a global premiere in the Philippines on August 1st. The model is anticipated to arrive in European and other markets soon, having already secured TDRA certification in the UAE and KBA certification in Germany earlier this year.

As a new addition to the Electric Scooter 5 series, this model is marketed with the slogan "Bigger size, more stable ride." Its core upgrades focus on enhancing riding stability and design. It is equipped with 12-inch vacuum tires, a significant increase from the 10-inch tires on other models, aimed at providing a smoother and more stable experience. Additionally, both its deck size and handlebar height have been increased compared to the base models.

In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus offers a top speed of 25 km/h and a maximum range of 60 km. It is powered by a motor with a peak output of 900 watts, enabling it to handle inclines of up to 20%. The scooter supports three different riding modes and can be connected to the Mijia app, allowing users to remotely check vehicle information.

Key features include a dual-spring shock absorber on the front wheel, a Traction Control System (TCS), and dual-braking technology for improved safety. The body is constructed from carbon steel and features a foldable design for portability. For enhanced visibility during night rides, it is equipped with smart light-sensing front and rear lights. The scooter also boasts comprehensive IPX5 water resistance, with the battery rated at IPX6.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus is priced in the Philippines at 30,999 PHP. In summary, this new model positions itself as a more robust and comfortable option in Xiaomi's lineup, catering to riders who prioritize stability, range, and a feature-rich commuting experience.
