In July, Xiaomi introduced the MIX Flip, its first vertically foldable smartphone, which received positive reviews from users. Now, it seems that the company is already working on a successor. According to recent leaks, the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 is set to launch earlier than expected in China. Additionally, some key specs of the device have been revealed.

Specifically, famous leaker Digital Chat Station recently revealed information that Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will launch in the first half of 2025. He added that the impressive sales of the first generation have motivated Xiaomi to introduce significant upgrades in the new model.

The original MIX Flip is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, but DCS reports that the MIX Flip 2 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. This upcoming model is anticipated to go head-to-head with the Galaxy Z Flip7 and may stand out as the only other vertically foldable smartphone on the market equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.

Additionally, DCS mentioned in a Weibo post that the Mix Flip 2 will support wireless charging, a feature missing from the first generation. Additionally, it's expected to have an IPX8 rating for water resistance and a design that is thinner and more flexible than its predecessor.

In August, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 was spotted in the GSMA IMEI database with model numbers 2505APX7BC and 2505APX7BG. While no official device name is listed, it’s speculated that these model numbers correspond to the Chinese and global versions of the Mix Flip 2.
