Apple HomePod mini 2 Rumors: Same Design, New Colors, Expected by End of 2026

According to a report from MacRumors, Apple's upcoming HomePod mini 2 will stick with the original's iconic design while arriving in a refreshed lineup of five colors.

Color Lineup

Code strings unearthed from Apple's internal software suggest the new HomePod mini will keep the existing blue (in a lighter shade than the current model) and white options, and add three brand-new colors: green, pink, and black. Earlier code references also pointed to additional hues including yellow and orange.

Design and Hardware

The second-generation speaker is expected to retain the original HomePod mini's fabric-wrapped spherical body with a backlit touch surface on top for playback and volume controls. The current model is powered by Apple's S5 chip, which enables computational audio and delivers 360-degree room-filling sound — the sequel will likely build on this foundation.

Release Timing

While the leaked icons in Apple's code clearly identify the product, they reveal no launch date. MacRumors estimates Apple will unveil the HomePod mini 2 alongside a new Apple TV before the end of 2026.
