UGREEN’s HomeAgent Turns a NAS Into a Local AI Smart Home Hub

UGREEN is moving beyond storage hardware with HomeAgent, a new local AI smart-home platform announced at IFA 2026.

Instead of treating the home as a pile of disconnected devices, UGREEN is positioning HomeAgent as a local control center that combines storage, computing, and automation. The system connects with UGREEN cameras, smart speakers, and e-paper frames, and it can also work with third-party devices through the Matter protocol.

The pitch is simple: keep more of the smart home running locally, cut down on cloud dependence, and avoid recurring service fees where possible.

Three Hub Models, Three Tiers of Power

HomeAgent launches with three main hub models. The entry version is the HomeAgent HA100, followed by the HomeAgent HA100 Pro, and then the flagship MasterAgent MA100.

UGREEN says the HA100 uses a Rockchip RK3588, while the HA100 Pro is based on the Skylake CP8180. The top-end MasterAgent MA100 uses NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 hardware.

The hardware differences are substantial. The HA100 comes with 16GB LPDDR5 and 64GB eMMC, while the HA100 Pro steps up to 32GB LPDDR5 and a 128GB M.2 NVMe SSD. The MA100 goes much further with 128GB LPDDR5X and a 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD.

Built for Local AI and Smart-Home Control

UGREEN says HomeAgent can show live or historical camera events, set voice notifications, recognize key moments, and build automation alerts. The company is also pitching the system as a local-first AI layer for everyday smart-home use.

That matters because many smart-home platforms still depend heavily on cloud processing. UGREEN is trying to shift the value proposition toward local storage, local computation, and more direct device control.

The system also includes voice interaction through Uliya, UGREEN’s assistant for the platform. According to UGREEN, the platform can hear across the room, process natural voice commands, and coordinate connected devices without forcing users to constantly open an app.

More Than Just the Hub

UGREEN is also building a wider ecosystem around HomeAgent.

The company showed SynCare cameras, a smart speaker for Uliya, and a Gallery E-Paper Smart Frame. Together, those products make HomeAgent look less like a standalone NAS and more like the center of a broader smart-home lineup.

That is important. A local smart-home system only becomes useful when the surrounding devices are good enough to justify staying inside the ecosystem. UGREEN appears to understand that, which is why the cameras, speaker, and frame are part of the same story.

Price and Kickstarter Timing

UGREEN says the crowdfunding campaign begins on October 27 on Kickstarter, with shipping expected to start in late January 2027.
