Alldocube iWork GT Ultra Review: A High-Value Companion for On-the-Go Productivity

In an era where mobile work and entertainment are the norm, the demand for portable and powerful PCs is insatiable. We've moved from standard laptops to thin-and-lights, and now even those can feel cumbersome. The ideal device offers maximum performance for daily tasks in the most portable form factor possible. This is the niche where Windows 2-in-1 tablet PCs thrive, embodying the user's expectation for ultimate productivity on the move. However, the market is often split between expensive high-end models and mid-range options plagued by performance or cooling issues. Alldocube, a veteran in the digital industry, addresses this gap with its new iWork GT Ultra, a Windows 2-in-1 tablet powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor, aiming to deliver PC-level performance in a highly portable package.

I. Design and Build

The Alldocube iWork GT Ultra features a 13-inch IPS display with a 2560×1600 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering sharp and coordinated visuals with its symmetrical bezels. The body is crafted from a premium magnesium-aluminum alloy with a fine sandblasted finish, giving it a comfortable and sophisticated feel. It includes a 5MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear camera. A key feature is the integrated hinge kickstand, which supports up to a 155° opening angle, providing stable, multi-angle support for various scenarios. The device is designed with an encompassing cooling grille that blends seamlessly into the chassis, enhancing its tech-forward aesthetic. It comes standard with a Pogo Pin magnetic keyboard that offers a decent typing experience for light office work. An optional 4096-level pressure-sensitive stylus is also available for drawing and note-taking. For connectivity, it provides one USB 3.0 Type-A port and two full-function USB 3.1 Type-C ports. The tablet measures just 9.8mm thick and weighs approximately 851g, making it impressively sleek and portable for a mid-range Windows 2-in-1.

II. Performance Testing

Performance is critical for a productivity device, and the iWork GT Ultra is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor. Built on the Intel 4 process, this CPU features a 14-core, 18-thread configuration with a max turbo frequency of 4.5GHz. In benchmarks like CINEBENCH R23, it scored 1534 pts (single-core) and 7413 pts (multi-core), showcasing a significant advantage over many ARM-based Windows devices. The integrated Intel Arc graphics with 7 Xe-cores also delivered respectable results in 3DMark Time Spy (2959 total score) and Fire Strike (6108 total score), indicating it can handle light to moderate gaming and creative tasks. The device comes with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD, with the SSD achieving impressive read/write speeds of over 7100 MB/s and 6350 MB/s, respectively. Under a 10-minute stress test, the CPU stabilized at around 20W with core temperatures at 66°C and a surface temperature of just 34.5°C, thanks to its dual-fan, dual-heat-pipe cooling system.

III. AI and Productivity Experience

The Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor includes an NPU, enabling the iWork GT Ultra to handle on-device AI tasks. Testing with a locally run 1.5B parameter language model showed impressive performance, generating text at over 16 tokens per second. While a larger 7B model was slower, the capability to run lightweight AI tasks locally is a definite plus. In standard productivity benchmarks, the device scored 1627 in CrossMark and 5918 in PCMark 10's Modern Office test, confirming its readiness for everyday work. Real-world tests were equally positive. Professional software like AutoCAD launched almost instantly, and both 2D and 3D files could be viewed and edited smoothly. A large 4GB image file in Photoshop opened in about 40 seconds, with subsequent edits like Gaussian blur completing in just 15 seconds. This demonstrates that the iWork GT Ultra is more than capable of handling demanding creative and engineering workloads on the go.

IV. Stylus and Usability

Paired with the optional Stylus Pen, the iWork GT Ultra becomes an even more versatile tool. In the native Journal app, writing and drawing feel natural with virtually no noticeable latency. The system supports intuitive gestures, such as scribbling over a word to erase it or circling content with the pen to select and move it with a finger. These features make it an excellent device for students and professionals who frequently take notes or sketch ideas. The highly adjustable built-in kickstand is another highlight, easily adapting from a laptop-like angle for typing to a presentation mode for sharing information with clients, eliminating the need for extra accessories.

V. Battery Life and Charging

For a device built for portability, battery life is crucial. The iWork GT Ultra is equipped with a 42.72Wh battery. In the PCMark 10 Modern Office battery test (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth off, 50% screen brightness), it lasted 6 hours and 41 minutes. While this is sufficient for shorter work sessions, it may be a bit lacking for users who need all-day power away from an outlet. The tablet supports 65W PD fast charging, which is a welcome feature. In testing, it charged from 1% to 48% in one hour and took about two hours to reach 90%. The charging speed is adequate but falls into the average category.
