Leica Camera AG has officially announced a significant leadership change. Effective April 1st, Andreas Voll will take the helm as the new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Matthias Harsch, who has led the company since 2017.

At 44 years old, Andreas Voll brings a wealth of experience from the luxury goods sector and strategic management. His career began at the consulting firm Roland Berger before he joined the prestigious Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen.

Voll's tenure at IWC Schaffhausen spanned 15 years, a period during which he demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight. He steadily rose through the ranks, ultimately achieving the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), a role that provided him with deep operational and brand management expertise.

Andreas Kaufmann, the majority shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Leica, expressed confidence in the new appointment. He highlighted that Voll was selected for his proven international management experience, his expertise in the high-end technology product sector, and his profound understanding of managing a luxury brand.

This leadership transition is a deliberate move by Leica. Kaufmann noted that the appointment of Voll is a key part of the company's strategy to rejuvenate its leadership team, ensuring a fresh perspective while upholding the brand's esteemed heritage.
