Huawei FreeClip 2: The World's First Starlink Headphones with NPU AI Processor

On September 24th, Huawei launched the FreeClip 2, the world's first Starlink-enabled headphones. the device boasts a distinctive "Cloud-feel C-shaped bridge" design and is available in three colors: Denim Blue, Feather Sand White, and Modern Black. Pre-sales begin on October 14th, with the official release slated for October 20th.

Powered by Huawei's third-generation, self-developed low-power chip with an integrated NPU AI processor, the FreeClip 2 delivers a 10x boost in computing power. It also features the HarmonyOS AI ear assistant, offering head movement notifications, intelligent broadcasting, voice activation, and translation services.

For audio performance, the FreeClip 2 is equipped with a 10.8mm open dual-diaphragm acoustic unit, enhancing both volume and low-frequency response. The 60mAh battery supports up to 9 hours of playback on a single charge, while the 537mAh charging case extends this to 38 hours. A 10-minute quick charge provides an additional 3 hours of listening.

Other key features include L2HC audio codec support, intelligent volume adaptation, voice enhancement, and spatial audio with 40% reduced head movement tracking latency. Additionally, it supports precise Starlink location tracking, with a planned audio upgrade by the end of 2025.

The FreeClip 2 is designed for comfort and durability, featuring skin-friendly liquid silicone and high-performance memory metal, increasing softness by 25%. Each earpiece weighs just 5.1 grams and offers IP57 dust and water resistance.
