Huawei Pura 80 Series Launched: 1" 50MP Camera, Dual Zoom Camera, and HarmonyOS NEXT, Priced From $900

Huawei Pura 80 Series launch

Huawei today launched the Pura 80 Series, its latest flagship product line, with high-end specifications, including 4 models: Pura 80, 80 Pro, 80 Pro+, and Pura 80 Ultra. These flagships bring many impressive upgrades compared to the previous generation to help enhance the user experience.

Huawei demonstrates its power in camera, software, and performance

Like the previous generation, the Huawei Pura 80 Series impresses with a strange triangular camera cluster, unlike any flagship on the market. The standard variant has a flat design, while the other three models have rounded edges.

On the front, the Huawei Pura 80 is equipped with a 6.6-inch flat OLED display, while the Pura 80 Pro, Pro+, and Ultra models have 6.8-inch four-sided curved displays. These displays will have a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits, LTPO technology with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, support for 1.07 billion color display, P3 wide color gamut, and a pixel density of 460 ppi.

This year, the Huawei Pura 80 series also focuses on the camera, using a 1-inch 50MP RYYB super-large main sensor, which has improved real-time image data processing by up to 200% compared to previous Pura phones. They have AI noise reduction and improved image color enhancement to bring users a great photography experience.

Huawei Pura 80 ultra

As you might expect, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra features a top-of-the-line camera system with TCG triple-real-time fusion technology. It increases the dynamic range to a maximum of 16EV, which allows users to capture great quality photos even when working in backlit or low-light environments.

Huawei Pura 80 Series features

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is also the world's first smartphone to feature a dual-lens telephoto camera system. The camera has two internal mirrors that support dual optical focal lengths of 3.7x and 9.4x (changing between focal lengths of 13mm, 22.5mm, 83mm, 212mm). According to Huawei, this technology has increased the optical zoom range by 129% compared to the Pura 70 Ultra.

In terms of software, the Huawei Pura 80 series runs on Huawei's own HarmonyOS NEXT operating system. It has many system effects specifically designed for high-end products and has a 36% improvement in overall performance with the new Ark engine.

Huawei Pura 80 Series features

The Huawei Pura 80 has a 5,600mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless. The three higher-end models have a 5,700mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless fast charging.

Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 (be) operating at 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth 5.2 (supporting LDAC and L2HC), NFC, and NearLink (also known as SparkLink), an initiative led by Huawei to create an alternative to Bluetooth. The devices are rated IP68 for submersion up to 2 meters and IP69 for resistance to high-temperature water jets.
