Meta Unveils Navigator UI for Quest, Inspired by visionOS
At Connect 2025, Meta revealed a major update to HorizonOS for the Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro headsets. The new Navigator system UI promises a cleaner, more intuitive experience for VR users.
A Look Inspired by visionOS

The redesigned interface draws clear inspiration from Apple’s visionOS, with a more minimalist style.
-
Left side: Search, menu, and store icons
-
Bottom bar: Profile cards, app libraries, friends, and notifications
This shift makes navigating apps and settings faster and more user-friendly.
From Tests to Launch
Meta began testing new UI concepts in May, starting with a design that felt more like SteamOS. The version unveiled at Connect 2025 shows a big leap forward—modern, clean, and aligned with the design trends of next-gen operating systems.
Rollout & User Control
Meta hasn’t shared a firm release date yet. The update will roll out gradually, and importantly, users will be able to switch back to the current UI if they prefer the old layout.
Why It Matters
The current Quest UI works, but it can feel clunky. The new Navigator system aims to bring it closer to the smooth, engaging interfaces that VR users now expect. It’s another sign of Meta’s push to refine the VR experience and keep pace with the competition.
