According to a report from Tweakers on August 11, it appears that AMD is planning to move its popular Ryzen 7 5700X3D processor to an end-of-life status. This move is significant for many PC gamers, as this chip represents one of the last major upgrade options for the venerable AM4 platform.

Multiple online retailers have confirmed to Tweakers that the 5700X3D is set to disappear from the market. The processor is the last CPU with 3D V-Cache technology for the AM4 socket that is still readily available for purchase. Its slightly faster counterpart, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, has been largely unavailable for nearly a year, making the 5700X3D the final bastion for AM4 users seeking a top-tier gaming boost.

Originally launched in 2024, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D was the last remaining X3D CPU for the AM4 platform. Its discontinuation effectively signals the end of the gaming hardware upgrade path for users who have built their systems around this long-serving socket, closing a chapter on one of AMD's most successful platforms.

For context, this same CPU could be purchased for under €200 at its lowest point last September, highlighting the effects of dwindling supply.
