Xiaomi Celebrates 15 Years with New Products and Tech Innovations

Xiaomi's 15th anniversary

During its 15th anniversary event, Xiaomi introduced a range of new devices and technologies, highlighting its progress in developing its own hardware, software, and electric vehicles. The company unveiled its latest smartphones, wearables, and a new electric SUV, emphasizing its focus on advanced chips, premium design, and smart mobility solutions.

XRing Chip

One of the key highlights was the launch of Xiaomi’s own XRING O1 processor, a high-performance mobile chip built with TSMC’s 3nm process. This chip features 19 billion transistors in a compact 109mm² die and is designed with a 10-core architecture, including ultra-large cores reaching 3.9GHz, performance cores, and energy-efficient cores.

It scored over 3 million on AnTuTu benchmarks, with single-core scores above 3,000 and multi-core over 9,500. The integrated Immortalis-G925 GPU with 16 cores offers strong graphics performance, reportedly surpassing Apple’s A18 Pro in efficiency and power.

Xiaomi 15S Pro Smartphone

The latest flagship, the Xiaomi 15S Pro, is powered by the new XRING O1 processor. It features a 6.73-inch OLED LTPO display with curved edges, a maximum brightness of 3200 nits, and a durable Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0. Its camera system, enhanced by the XRING O1 ISP v4, supports 4K video recording and excellent low-light photos.

The tablet includes eight stereo speakers and a detachable keyboard, making it suitable for productivity and entertainment. It is available in China at a starting price of around $790.

New Chips and Connectivity Solutions

Xiaomi also introduced the XRING T1 chip, marking its entry into 4G baseband technology. Designed for smartwatches like the Xiaomi Watch S4, the T1 supports full 4G LTE protocols and passed extensive carrier compatibility tests.

This move reduces reliance on third-party modems and enhances the independence of Xiaomi’s wearable devices.

Xiaomi Watch S4

The Xiaomi Watch S4 features the new XRING T1 chip, offering up to nine days of battery life on 4G standby. It has a 1.43-inch circular OLED display, supports 4G eSIM, GPS dual-frequency, and NFC.

The watch sports a forged carbon bezel, various strap options, and runs HyperOS 2, with features like WeChat integration and a skiing mode. In China, it starts at approximately ¥1,299 ($180), with a subsidy price around ¥1,104 ($153).

Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro

The Civi 5 Pro combines style and performance, powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen4 processor and Leica optics. It features a 6.55-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a triple 50MP Leica camera system, and a 6000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

The phone’s unique design includes the Iced American edition, which has coffee grounds embedded in the back panel for a subtle aroma. Pricing begins at about ¥2,999 ($415), with discounts lowering it to roughly ¥2,549 ($353).

Xiaomi YU7 Electric SUV

In the automotive sector, Xiaomi announced the YU7, a new all-electric SUV built on an 800V platform. It offers up to 835km of range, with three different trims and nine colors available. The vehicle features luxury touches such as zero-gravity Nappa leather seats with massage functions, a panoramic Mini-LED dashboard, and an NVIDIA Thor chip for intelligent driving.

It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 3 seconds and can fast-charge to 620km of range in 15 minutes. Although exact pricing has not been confirmed, CEO Lei Jun suggested that rumors of a ¥199,000 ($27,500) price point are unlikely, indicating a premium market position.

Looking Forward

Xiaomi’s events demonstrated its ambitions to build a comprehensive ecosystem of connected devices, from smartphones and tablets to smartwatches and electric vehicles. With new in-house chips, innovative hardware, and a focus on smart mobility, Xiaomi is positioning itself for continued growth and leadership in the tech industry.
