BYD: the price drop of lithium carbonate is a trend

According to data from Shanghai Steel Union, the average spot price of battery-grade lithium carbonate fell by 10,000 yuan/ton to 492,500 yuan/ton. This raised the question of how this fall below 500,000 yuan/ton would affect midstream battery manufacturers.

In response to this, BYD stated that it is difficult to determine whether lithium carbonate prices will continue to fall in the short term. However, in the long term, price declines are a trend. The final battery production capacity ultimately depends on the balance between supply and demand.

Currently, the price of lithium carbonate accounts for more than half of the cost of batteries. It is worthy to note that this is reported by first finance and economics
