South Korean company LG has introduced the UltraFine 40WT95UF monitor. It is claimed to be the world's first 5K2K monitor with Thunderbolt 5 support. According to the announcement, the LG UltraFine 40WT95UF is aimed at the B2B segment for business customers. According to the manufacturer, it is intended for use by analysts in the financial and IT sectors with data-intensive applications.

In detail, this new product offers a curved 39.7-inch display based on an IPS Black matrix and is designed for professionals in data-intensive industries, including finance, IT, and creative industries.

The UltraFine 40WT95UF display has a 2500R curvature radius. The monitor supports a 120Hz refresh rate, provides 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified. LG notes that it is factory calibrated for accurate color reproduction. The monitor is claimed to support AMD FreeSync Premium image synchronization technology.

A nice feature is Thunderbolt 5 support, which enables data transfer rates of up to 80 Gbps. Connection is via a single cable, which also powers a connected laptop. The monitor also features USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, DisplayPort 2.1, and an RJ45 network port.
  
The new product is equipped with a set of tools for multitasking, including a built-in KVM switch that allows you to control two signal sources with one set of mouse and keyboard. The monitor also supports picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes.

Price and availability

The new LG UltraFine 40WT95UF is expected to arrive in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2025, between October and December, with a suggested price of €1,499. There is still no information about the arrival of the device in other regions.
