Xiaomi MIX Flip 3 and Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Tipped to Feature Satellite Communication

Recent reports suggest that Xiaomi is significantly expanding its satellite communication capabilities across multiple smartphone series. According to a leak from a well-known Weibo blogger, upcoming devices, including the Xiaomi MIX Flip 3 and a new Redmi Note model, are slated to receive this advanced connectivity feature.

The leak specifically points to the Xiaomi MIX Flip 3, identified by model numbers 2603APX0AC and 2603EPX2DC, and the codename "pixiu." This indicates that Xiaomi's next-generation foldable flip phone will join the growing list of devices offering connectivity beyond traditional cellular networks.

This development follows earlier news from July 25th, when a new Xiaomi device with the model number "25104RADAC" received radio certification. This device supports Beidou's short message satellite service and is widely believed to be the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Satcom Edition. If confirmed, it would mark the first time a Redmi phone has featured satellite communication.

While official details about the Xiaomi MIX Flip 3 remain under wraps, we can look to its predecessor for reference. The Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 was launched on June 26th, featuring a 4.01-inch external display and a 6.86-inch internal screen with ultra-thin flexible glass, setting a high bar for its successor.

The MIX Flip 2 was also a powerhouse in terms of hardware, boasting a large 5165mAh battery—a first for a compact foldable to surpass the 5000mAh mark. It was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Edition processor, supported by a dual VC cooling system and 50W wireless charging, suggesting the MIX Flip 3 will likely continue this trend of high-end specifications.

According to xiamitime prediction, it appears the Xiaomi MIX Flip 3 could be a China-only release for 2026. This marks a notable departure from previous MIX Flip models, which launched both in China and global markets. The lack of international model numbers in the database points to a deliberate shift in Xiaomi’s strategy regarding the global foldable market—something likely to disappoint international fans and partners alike, especially given the similarly limited rollout for the MIX Fold series this year.
