ONEXPLAYER Unveils World's First Portable eGPU with AMD Radeon RX 7800M
Information about the preparation of the Radeon RX 7800M mobile video adapter has already appeared on the Internet. Now the main technical characteristics of the new 3D accelerator have become known. It is interesting that the details about this model did not come from AMD, but from the ONEXPLAYER company, which will offer an external video card " OneXGPU 2" based on it.
According to a report by Videocardz, AMD's latest laptop GPU will be built using the Navi 32 chip. It will use a configuration with 3840 stream processors and a 192-bit memory bus through which the GPU interacts with 12GB of GDDR6. For comparison, the Radeon RX 7800 XT desktop video card has 3840 stream processors, a 256-bit bus and 16GB of GDDR6 memory.
The standard level of TGP (Total Graphics Power) in Radeon RX 7800M will be 180W. However, AMD partners will probably be able to adjust this setting depending on the device. The OnexGPU 2 will feature an M.2 storage slot and several external ports, including OCuLink, USB4, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 2.0.
The company also demonstrated the performance of the OneXGPU 2 external graphics card connected to the ONEXPLAYER X1 Mini portable gaming system. According to company, the card will be able to run God of War (2018) and Red Dead Redemption 2 at maximum graphics settings with a high fps rate.
The first version of ONEXGPU, which was launched last year, is equipped with RX 7600M XT. Due to its low power consumption, this GPU has attracted the attention of many foreign GPU manufacturers and many products have been made based on it.
There is no information about the price yet of OneXGPU 2, but a page for the new product is already available on Indiegogo. However, it should be added that official information about the Radeon RX 7800M video adapter from AMD has not yet been received.
