Gateron Unveils Innovative Triangular Magnetic Switches for Enhanced Stability

Keyboard switch manufacturer Gateron unveiled a truly unconventional product at its "First Act" ecosystem conference on November 5. Moving away from the traditional square or cylindrical stems commonly found in mechanical keyboards, Gateron introduced the uniquely shaped Triangular Magnetic Switch, a product that challenges conventional design principles.

The most striking feature of this new switch is its distinctly angular triangular stem. According to Gateron, this innovative design is not merely for aesthetics; it is specifically engineered to ensure triggering stability and significantly reduce the occurrence of accidental key presses, a common issue for some users.

Internally, the Gateron Triangular Magnetic Switch is built for performance, boasting characteristics of short travel and high rebound. It comes equipped with a high internal coercivity magnetic core. The top cover and base are both constructed from a matte black modified POM material, ensuring durability and a smooth feel during operation.

Attention to detail is evident in the switch's design. The top housing is adorned with a triangular matrix "dark night totem" pattern, and the bottom features a sealed structure for sound acoustics. For users who enjoy customization, the light guide column is also independently detachable.

To cater to different user preferences, the switch is available in two versions. The "Light" version features a light initial pressure of 33±5gf, while the "Dark" version offers a heavier initial pressure of 38±5gf. Both models are rated for an impressive lifespan of at least 150 million keystrokes.
