HONOR 300 Series Launched With SD 8 Gen 3 and up to 16GB of RAM
Honor today announced as planned the smartphones belonging to the new 300 series: three models, namely the base model and the Pro and Ultra variants. The family of new HONOR terminals comes with powerful cameras, mid-range, and top-of-the-line Snapdragon chips, as well as a distinctive design with a premium textured finish.
The event where this new generation of HONOR mobiles was announced was held in China. The company has only offered information about distribution in the Asian market, it has not indicated whether the three new models will be launched globally. We will have to wait to see if the HONOR 300 series reaches Europe.
Technical specifications
The first member of this family is the HONOR 300, the front of this device is made up of a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution or 2,664 x 1,200 pixels that is capable of reaching up to 4,000 nits of maximum brightness. The frames that accompany this screen are reduced and the front camera is located in the upper central area.
This 50-megapixel camera features a Sony IMX906 sensor with an f/2.1 focal aperture and is capable of recording at 4K resolution. Continuing with the cameras, we have to jump to the back of the device where we find two sensors. The main one is 50 megapixels with an f/1.96 focal aperture, OIS, and is the Sony IMX906.
It also has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens that offers a 112-degree field of view, the focal aperture is f/2.2, and offers a macro option capable of getting close to objects or subjects that are 2.5 centimeters away. In addition, you can also record video at 4K resolution with this sensor.
Moving on to the inside of the HONOR 300, the processor that brings it to life is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from Qualcomm along with 8, 12, or 16GB of RAM and 256 or 512GB of storage. The autonomy is marked by a 5300mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Among its special features is IP65 water and dust resistance.
Moving on to the HONOR 300 Pro and HONOR 300 Ultra, what we find are several shared specifications such as the screen, which in both cases is a 6.78-inch OLED panel. The resolution is FullHD + or 2,700 x 1,224 pixels, it also has a 120 Hz refresh rate and is capable of offering up to 4,000 nits of maximum brightness.
The chosen processor is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 along with 12 or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. The autonomy is signed by a 5300mAh battery compatible with 100 W of wired charging and 80W wirelessly. It also has IP65 resistance to dust and water like the HONOR 300.
In the camera section, the differences with the previous model are found, the front one is identical. The rear sensors are the ones that change, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with three optical magnifications is added in the Pro model and 3.8x in the Ultra model. In both cases, the telephoto lens is optically stabilized.
Price and variants
The Honor 300 series is now available in China in Luyan Purple, Moyan Black, Chaka Green, Cangshan Gray, and Yulong Snow for the base model, Rock Black, Tea Green, and Starlight Sand for the Honor 300 Pro, and Camellia White and Ink Rock Black for the Honor 300 Ultra. The prices are as follows:
The entry-level HONOR 300 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at 2299 yuan ($331). The next model, equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is available for 2499 yuan ($359). For those needing more storage, the 12GB RAM with 512GB option is priced at 2799 yuan ($401), while the high-end 16GB RAM version with 512GB costs 2999 yuan ($429).
Moving to the Pro models, the HONOR 300 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 3399 yuan ($487). The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is available for 3699 yuan, ($529) while the premium model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at 3999 yuan ($570).
The flagship HONOR 300 Ultra comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage for 4199 yuan ($605) and the top model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at 4699 yuan ($675).
As we mentioned at the beginning, HONOR has not given a specific launch date in Europe. It is quite likely that these new devices will remain in the Asian market, although we will have to be attentive to any type of change in the company's plans.
