Samsung Unveils World's First Micro RGB TV: A 115-Inch Giant with Precision Color Control

Samsung has officially announced the launch of the world's first Micro RGB TV, marking a significant advancement in display technology. The new television, which has already been released in the South Korean market, promises more precise backlight control compared to existing Mini LED technologies.

Samsung First Mirco RGB TV

According to Samsung, the television features its proprietary Micro RGB technology. The backlight is composed of micro-sized LEDs, each smaller than 100 micrometers, enabling exceptionally high backlighting accuracy. This structure allows for the independent control of every single red, green, and blue (RGB) LED, offering a level of precision in color regulation that surpasses traditional backlighting methods.

The display panel is powered by a Micro RGB AI engine and boasts a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. A built-in NPU (Neural Processing Unit) optimizes colors in real-time based on the content being displayed and can upscale lower-resolution content to near-4K quality. Furthermore, the TV is certified for both HDR10+ Adaptive and HDR10+ Gaming.

Aesthetically and functionally, the TV panel is treated with an anti-glare coating to minimize reflections. For audio, it integrates a powerful 70W RMS 4.2.2 channel speaker system that supports premium sound features like Dolby Atmos, 360 Sound, and Q-Symphony. It is also equipped with far-field and near-field microphones and a light sensor.

The television runs on Samsung's Tizen OS and comes with a guarantee of seven major system updates within its support lifespan. Current features include Art Mode, SmartThings integration, AI Search, and real-time translation. In terms of connectivity, it offers WiFi 5, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.3, four HDMI 2.0 ports, two USB-A ports, an Ethernet port, and an optical audio output.

This groundbreaking TV is now available in South Korea for 44.9 million KRW (approximately USD 32,500). Samsung has announced plans to introduce this television to other international markets and will also release additional size variants in the future, signaling a new era for premium home entertainment.
