Acer’s New Iconia Tablets Split Into OLED and IPS Models

Acer has launched four new tablets under the Iconia name: the Iconia X16, X14, A16, and A14.

What makes the lineup interesting is that Acer is splitting the range into two display families. The Iconia X models use OLED panels, while the Iconia A models use IPS LCD screens. That gives buyers a clearer choice between richer contrast and a more affordable mainstream panel type.

One Chipset Across the Whole Lineup

All four tablets use the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC and ship with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM plus 128GB eMMC storage. They also support microSD expansion up to 2TB, run Android 16, and include dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Acer is not trying to make these tablets look radically different from one another on the inside. Instead, it is using the same base hardware and letting the screen be the main differentiator.

Two OLED Models, Two IPS Models

The display lineup is split like this:

• Iconia X16: 16-inch OLED, 1920 x 1200, 300 nits, 95% DCI-P3
• Iconia X14: 14-inch OLED, 1920 x 1200, 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3
• Iconia A16: 16-inch IPS LCD, 1920 x 1200, 300 nits

That makes the X models the more colorful and higher-contrast options, while the A models are the simpler LCD versions for users who do not need OLED.

Built for Basic Productivity and Media Use

All four tablets include a 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera, along with four speakers and a single microphone.

Acer also includes two USB-C ports, an 8000mAh dual-cell battery, and a tri-stand-style kickstand in the box. Optional accessories include an active stylus and a detachable keyboard, which makes the tablets more flexible for note-taking or light productivity.
