I Just Fell In Love With These Little Robots

Seriously, I think I just fell in love with these two little robots I found recently while browsing the web looking for cool tech things and I had to share them.

Bittle From Petoi

The first one I came across, and my personal favorite, was the tiny pet robot dog called Bittle from Petoi. At first glance, it looks a lot like Boston Dynamic’s Spot but in miniature. With Bittle, you can build it from scratch with the parts available in the box and then program it on your own in C++ and Python. It’s a great way to introduce engineering and programming in a fun and interactive way for little kids.

Through the Petoi APP and the programming software, you can program various behaviors into it. Tell it to walk around, play, use a camera to watch things and so much more. You can also take direct control over Bittle with the APP and play with it like a remote control robot.

It may not be as smart as Boston Dynamic’s Spot, but it will still give you and the family hours of fun and a fun introduction to the world of robotics.

SOLARROBOT

While looking at the adorable Bittle robot, we also found this SOLARROBOT, a solar-powered toy robot. This is a great kit for younger kids to try out and start developing an interest in engineering.

It’s super easy to put together thanks to its easy-to-understand instructions and high-quality parts. Children can easily learn the basics of STEM through their time building and tinkering with the robot. Learning how ther parts connect and work together to make it function

For extended replayability so the kids don’t get bored with it, the robot can be rebuilt into a total of 11 different kinds of robots. Some of the designs are like modern vehicles while others are baked on animals, like a scorpion or a monkey!

Rocki, The Robotic Pet Friend

Already got a pet but maybe worried about how it is doing at home while you’re away at work or something? Rocki might be your solution then. With this little robot, you can check in on your pets at any time through a smartphone app and connect to the robot.

You can see what it sees, hear what it hears, and even talk to your pet through it. You can even move through almost any part of the house thanks to its innovative all-directional mecanum wheels that allow it to turn in place or even move sideways.

The best part though is the various arm attachments for the robot. You can connect various toys on it or even a laser pointer so you can still play with your lovable little pets even while you’re away at work. It can also give your pets treats, since it’s always a good idea to reward your cat or dog with a tasty treat after some playtime.

Furbo Dog Camera From Furbo

Don’t need a complex camera like Rocki but still want to keep an eye on your pet while you’re away and even give them some treats still? Then Furbo is probably the best solution for you.

It’s a stationary camera system that links up to your phone if there is a Wi-Fi connection through their APP so you can see what’s going on at home while you’re away. You can even have a look at night time cause of the camera’s low light feature. To help make the dog feel a little less lonely, you can also speak to it through a built-in speaker as well. Getting the dog use to this might take some time though, like all things in life.

Ok, cool those are all things you can do with a normal little smart home camera you’re thinking right? Well Furbo it can detect and alert you when it hears your dog barking so you can quickly activate the camera and see what’s going on.

Then there is also my personal favorite feature, the ability to shoot out treats! Just like with Rocki, the Furbo has a section where you can store small treats and it can launch these a fair distance for your doggo to enjoy. This helps the dog become more comfortable with the camera and helps you enjoy easy interactions with your dog throughout the day, even when you’re away.

What Robot Helpers Do You Like?

I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on these two brands for a long while cause I love the ideas behind both of these products. But what about you? Or better yet, do you know of any other tech products like these robots? I’d love to hear about them. Let us know on our Heyup Forums.
