DJI Air 3S is a solid upgrade for those looking for better image quality and flight performance. Compared to the DJI Mini 4 Pro, the Air 3S is larger and heavier, making it less portable but more capable in challenging conditions. Its dual-camera system, including a wide-angle 1-inch sensor, delivers improved low-light performance and dynamic range, surpassing the Mini 4 Pro’s smaller sensor.
Flight performance is also enhanced with forward-facing LiDAR sensors, improving obstacle detection, especially in low-light environments. While the Mini 4 Pro is more agile and convenient due to its sub-249g weight, the Air 3S offers a more stable flight and advanced features.
One key difference is regulations—Mini 4 Pro falls under the C0 category, making it easier to fly in most regions, while the Air 3S requires additional certifications. If portability and simplicity are priorities, the Mini 4 Pro is the better option. But for superior image quality and flight capabilities, the Air 3S is worth considering.
DJI Mini 4 Pro is an excellent lightweight drone, perfect for travel due to its sub-249g weight and fewer regulations. However, it struggles in low light, has limited wind resistance, and the battery life could be better, but overall, it’s a fantastic choice for casual and travel photography.
