Huawei May Unveil Foldable Screen Laptop Next Week
Huawei is set to launch its Nova 14 series smartphones on May 19, along with a new MateBook Pro laptop powered by its recently launched HarmonyOS PC operating system. Besides, Huawei has recently confirmed that a foldable-screen laptop may be launched at the same event.
Leak Details on Huawei’s Foldable Laptop
A Weibo leaker has revealed that Huawei’s foldable-screen laptop will be called the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, with the model number HPR-W72. The leak indicates that the device will feature 32GB of RAM and 2TB of internal storage.
The Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design will reportedly be the brand’s first foldable laptop, and it looks like it will be in the same group as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold and the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold.
Additionally, a leaked photo shows the laptop in a “forged shadow black” finish. There is speculation that this foldable device might be Huawei’s first to run HarmonyOS for PCs. The MateBook Fold Ultimate Design is also expected to be powered by Huawei's own in-house Kirin X90 chipset.
At present, Huawei hasn't officially disclosed further details about the foldable PC. However, it is expected to feature a unique design language, custom silicon, and the new HarmonyOS for PCs.
