Google Pixel 9a Announced With 48MP Camera, Tensor G4, IP68 and Starting at $499

Google Pixel 9a launch

After several leaks about various details of the device, Google has finally announced its new Pixel 9a smartphone. The new device has interesting new features and seems to be a worthy rival to the new iPhone 16E, as both models are more “affordable” options of the new generation of the companies' main lines.

Google Pixel 9a design

The Pixel 9a hits the market with a Tensor G4 as a processor, in addition to other internal configurations, such as its 48MP main camera housed in a discreet module.

With a design quite similar to its line siblings, the Pixel 9A offers a simple design with the famous Google “G” on its polycarbonate back. On the front, we have a display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for good resistance, flat edges, and an aluminum structure on its sides.

Still, on the screen, the Pixel 9a offers a 6.3-inch display with pOLED technology and a maximum resolution of 2424x1080. The phone also offers a 120Hz refresh rate for improved navigation through your apps in general.

Inside, there's a Google Tensor G4 that has a Titan M2 security coprocessor to help out. As standard, the device offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Another point that draws attention is the cameras. The 9a presented a considerable change, going from the 64MP of the Pixel 7a and 8a to a 48MP f1.7 camera with Quad PD Dual Pixel AF and OIS, which allows recordings of up to 4K and 60 FPS. In the ultrawide, we have 13MP, the same as the front.

Lastly, we have a 5100mAh battery and 23W wired charging, which the company says is “fast”. There is also support for Qi wireless charging. Like other Pixel devices, this smartphone will also receive seven years of Android updates from launch.
