ASUS ROG Phone 7 Series Model Number and Lineup Details Leaked

ASUS launched the ROG Phone 6 series, consisting of the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro, in India and other markets last year. Both devices were powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Later, the ROG Phone 6D series was released with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC. After a few months of the flagship launch, the company is already preparing to announce the ROG Phone 7 series with the latest Qualcomm platform for the second half of 2023.

The Tech Outlook has recently released a report that highlights information about the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series. The report includes details obtained from a whistleblower named Paras Guglani and also reveals the model numbers of the upcoming devices. In this article, we will explore the known specifications, features, and other details of this series.

It has been reported that the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series will consist of three smartphones. The entry-level device in the lineup is said to be the ROG Phone 7, identified by the model number AI2205_A. Additionally, the company is reportedly launching the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, with the model number AI2205_E.

The report states that a third ROG Phone 7D, with the model number AI2205_D, will be released. The launch of this model is expected to take place alongside the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate, which have the model numbers AI2205_B and AI2205_F respectively, for the Chinese market. While the model number for the Indian version of the ROG Phone 7 is AI2205_C.

Expected Specifications

 All three smartphones are anticipated to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform and have a RAM of 16GB. The first two phones are expected to come with a storage capacity of 256GB, while the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is expected to stand out with a storage capacity of 512GB.

The screen will feature an AMOLED display and have a refresh rate of 165Hz. As for the battery, it is expected to be similar to the ROG Phone 6 series with a 6000mAh capacity and support for 65W fast charging. It is rumored that the phones will also have some form of cooling mechanism to keep the thermals in check. While the operating system will be based on Android 13.

Launch Timeline

The launch of the ROG Phone 7 series is expected in the third quarter of 2023, but ASUS has not confirmed any details about its specific launch timeline. However, as we move closer to the launch date, we can anticipate more information to be revealed.
