Stay Always Online: Amazon Unveils eero Signal for Seamless Cellular Internet Backup

In an age where a stable internet connection is essential, unexpected broadband outages can be a major disruption. Addressing this common frustration, Amazon's home networking brand, eero, has announced the launch of a new backup access device, the eero Signal. This device is engineered to ensure your eero Wi-Fi network remains online, even when your primary internet service goes down.

The core function of the eero Signal is to provide a reliable fail-safe for your home network. When it detects a failure in your primary broadband connection, it automatically switches to a cellular network to maintain internet access. Once your broadband service is restored, the eero Signal seamlessly deactivates its cellular connection, ensuring you're always using the best available network without any manual intervention.

Eero is launching the Signal in two versions to meet different needs: a 4G LTE model and a 5G RedCap model. The 4G LTE version is the first to be released, priced at $99.99. For maximum convenience, the device features a built-in multi-carrier eSIM that automatically adapts and switches between carriers for the best signal. It also includes a power splitter, allowing it to share a single power adapter with an existing eero router, reducing clutter.

To manage the data used during a backup, eero has integrated the service with its eero Plus subscription plans. Users have two options to cover cellular data usage. The standard eero Plus plan, at $99.99 per year, includes 10GB of backup data annually. For those with higher data needs, the eero Plus 100 plan is available for $99.99 per month and provides a generous 100GB of backup data every month.
