Apple’s 2025 iPad Pro to Feature Dual Front Cameras to Fix Face ID Issue in Portrait Mode

According to the latest reports, Apple is set to equip its 2025 iPad Pro with dual front-facing cameras. This change aims to address a significant issue with Face ID, which fails to work reliably when the iPad Pro is held in portrait mode.

Last year, Apple redesigned the iPad Pro, moving the front camera to a horizontal layout and incorporating a new OLED display. While this design improved Face ID functionality and user experience in landscape mode, it introduced a new problem: Face ID could not function properly when the device was held vertically.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg revealed in his latest edition of the "Power On" newsletter that Apple plans to resolve this issue by adding a second front-facing camera to the iPad Pro. This additional camera will be positioned on the shorter side of the device, allowing Face ID to function effectively in portrait mode and improving the video call experience when holding the iPad vertically.

In addition to the dual front cameras, the M5 iPad Pro is expected to feature the new M5 chip. This year's update is anticipated to be a minor upgrade, focusing on optimizing and improving existing functionalities rather than introducing major design changes. This is not surprising, as the iPad Pro underwent a significant redesign last year.

Stay tuned for more updates on the 2025 iPad Pro and its new features!
