OnePlus 13 Will Hit Global Market In January 2025
OnePlus will still have its say in the battle of high-end smartphones in 2025. The brand confirms that the OnePlus 13, its next high-end model, will be unveiled during a global launch in January 2025. So, in January, we don't only have to expect the Samsung Galaxy S25, although the OnePlus 13 will have slightly fewer secrets for the consumer. The Android smartphone recently appeared in China and seems to bring few changes with it for its international launch.
Just like in China, OnePlus is releasing the smartphone in the colors Black Eclipse, Arctic Dawn and Midnight Ocean. Special for two different reasons.
Unique OnePlus 13 changes course
The OnePlus 13's available color options see the Chinese company abandoning a design choice. While an iconic green color option has been available for the company's Android flagships in recent years, that is a thing of the past with the arrival of the OnePlus 13.
Midnight Ocean, the blue version of the OnePlus 13, is unique in its own way. According to OnePlus, this is the first smartphone in the world with vegan leather based on microfiber. Whether that texture and color will also become the standard for future smartphones from the company is not yet known.
A OnePlus with an IP rating
In addition to the new color options, OnePlus also announced that its new Android smartphone will also feature an IP rating. The Chinese company hasn’t always carried an official seal of approval, although its smartphones have been water and dust resistant. The OnePlus 13 has an IP68 and IP69 rating in that regard.
Its display has also evolved compared to the previous OnePlus 12, introducing RadiantView technology that guarantees a better viewing experience outdoors, even when sunlight shines directly on the panel. Of course, there is also the brand's own Aqua Touch technology , which allows you to use the touch panel even with wet hands or in the rain.
Although the brand has not confirmed it, everything seems to indicate that the OnePlus 13 will also reach the global market with OxygenOS 15 inside. The new version of OnePlus' customization layer introduces great new features, including a software base completely updated to Android 15.
While specs and design typically don't change much when a OnePlus phone launches internationally, the color options, water resistance, and configurations the phone comes in do change.
The OnePlus 13 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will reportedly only be available in Black Eclipse. For the Midnight Ocean and Arctic Dawn, you'll need at least 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
A launch with an offer included
The brand has not revealed the price at which the OnePlus 13 will be launched in the global market. To find out that information, we will have to wait until its launch in January 2025. However, it has been confirmed that the first buyers of the device will receive a pair of B&O BeoSound Explore screen-printed Bluetooth speakers, valued at 249 euros.
