Qualcomm Snapdragon X Platform Announces For Copilot+ PCs

Snapdragon X launch

Qualcomm took the stage at CES 2025 to introduce the Snapdragon X, the latest addition to its Snapdragon X Series compute portfolio. Following the Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite, this new chipset promises exceptional performance, impressive battery life that lasts multiple days, and enhanced Copilot+ PC experiences.

Snapdragon X features

Powered by an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, the Snapdragon X promises essential performance for the next generation of portable computers. According to Qualcomm, it offers up to 163% faster performance at ISO power compared to its competitors, which consume 168% more power for similar ISO performance levels. The Snapdragon X smartly balances efficiency with a 45 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling a highly efficient execution of Copilot+ PC experiences.

Snapdragon X performance

The integrated power-efficient GPU of Snapdragon X supports dynamic graphics, making it ideal for tasks such as creating presentations, web browsing, and streaming content. This platform is particularly suited for students, freelancers, and budget-conscious consumers who require a reliable and powerful laptop capable of keeping pace with their busy lifestyles.

Snapdragon X performance

The momentum for Windows 11 on Snapdragon continues to build, with over 50 AI experiences powered by the NPU now available natively. Popular native apps include 20 leading VPNs, 50 widely used security and cloud storage applications, along with new digital audio workstations (DAWs) and Virtual Studio Technology (VST) instruments.

In the past year, there has been a 3x increase in native app development, with companies like Music AI launching the Moises Live app exclusively for Snapdragon and its NPU, according to Qualcomm.
