ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra and Saturn 4 Launched, Prices Starting From $299
The manufacturer ELEGOO recently introduced two new 3D printer models to the market: Saturn 4 Ultra and Saturn 4. With these models, the company wants to set new standards in terms of precision, printing speed and ease of use. Both printers are intended to print reliably and quickly and are intended to deliver maximum quality at a minimum price.
Elegoo Saturn 4 specs
The Elegoo Saturn 4 10-inch Mono LCD screen displays 12K resolution and its maximum printing volume is 218.88 x 122.88 x 220 mm, identical to the Saturn 4 Ultra. It features a Fresnel lens for its 12K resolution LCD screen, or 11,520 x 5,120 pixels, with an XY resolution of 19 x 24 microns. This screen is protected by a 9H film. The COB light source compatible with standard 405 nm resins ensures light uniformity of around 92%.
Using the Elegoo Saturn 4 printer is made easy with full machine verification and one-click automatic leveling. Printing must be done “offline”, since the Saturn 4 only has a USB port to accommodate a key (no WiFi). Elegoo recommends the use of Chitubox and VoxelDance Tango to prepare 3D files for the Saturn 4. The screen on the front of the machine, 3.5 inches diagonal, is also quite basic but sufficient to request a print and execute maintenance operations.
Elegoo has equipped its Saturn 4 with a hinged hood for easier handling. The power button is located on the right side, towards the rear of the machine, along with the USB port and power connector. The Saturn4 does not have a built-in power supply, a laptop-like power adapter is provided.
To use an Elegoo Saturn 4 in an office, living room or bedroom, it is recommended to add the Mars Mate accessory, an air purifier that we have already tested . As an option, a Wash & Cure solution such as Mercury XS is recommended to obtain objects with a perfect finish.
Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra specs
The Saturn 4 Ultra offers a 10-inch Mono LCD screen with 12K resolution and a print volume of 218.88 x 122.88 x 220 mm, identical to the Saturn 4. Like its little sister, the Saturn 4 Ultra is equipped with a Fresnel lens with COB to provide a uniform light source of more than 92%. The 12K resolution of the monochrome LCD displays a resolution of 11,520 x 5,120 pixels, with an XY resolution of 19 x 24 microns. The maximum printing speed can reach 150mm/h, more than double that of S4.
Elegoo announces operation straight out of the box thanks to the auto leveling integrated into the printer. With its external WiFi antenna, the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra printer can be controlled remotely. The manufacturer recommends using Chitubox and VoxelDance Tango to prepare 3D files for printing.
A USB port allows you to connect a key for “offline” use of the Saturn. This port, along with the Wi-Fi antenna and power button, are placed on the right side of the machine, right next to the external power connector (equivalent to a laptop charger). Hinges make it easier to handle the cover.
One of the main innovations introduced with this model is the "Tilt Release Technology". This technology tilts the resin tank and LC display to make it easier to remove printed objects from the release film. This mechanism not only makes the transition from fast to precision printing smoother, but also helps reduce overall printing times, with speeds up to 5.5 seconds per layer.
The Saturne 4 Ultra benefits from double the printing speed (150 mm/h) compared to the Saturn 4. The on-board camera monitors printing in progress using artificial intelligence, allowing it to pause printing and resume it without defeating the current job. The camera can also record “ timelapse ” type videos to keep a record of the impressions.
Prices and Availability
Currently, both printers can be pre-ordered: The Saturn 4 will cost USD 299 for pre-orderers and the Saturn 4 Ultra will cost USD 399. Delivery will begin in June/July.
