Amazon Upgrades Alexa+ Into a More Powerful AI Life Assistant

Amazon has officially announced an upgrade to Alexa+, turning its voice assistant into a more capable AI-powered helper for everyday life.

The upgraded Alexa+ supports natural multi-turn conversations, memory, and task execution. Users can ask it to manage schedules, summarize emails, create podcasts, control smart home devices, shop online, book restaurants, call rides, and more.

Amazon says users only need to wake Alexa+ once to start a natural conversation, almost like talking with a friend. The assistant can handle a wide range of topics and provide personalized real-time news summaries through partnerships with more than 200 news organizations, including the Associated Press and Reuters.

Alexa+ is also becoming more deeply connected with real-world services. Users can call an Uber by voice and view fare estimates and wait times on screen, book restaurants through OpenTable, or order food from Grubhub while making changes to the order hands-free.

The assistant can remember user preferences and sync conversation context across Echo speakers, the Alexa mobile app, in-car devices, and the web. It also connects with Amazon’s shopping, music, and Fire TV ecosystem to offer personalized recommendations and AI-assisted shopping.

With this update, Alexa+ is moving beyond a basic voice assistant and becoming a more complete AI companion for home, entertainment, shopping, and daily tasks.
