BenQ’s iScreenBar Is a Monitor Light Bar Built for iMac
BenQ has launched the iScreenBar, a monitor light bar designed specifically for the 24-inch iMac (2021 and later). The new accessory is meant to look like a natural extension of Apple’s all-in-one desktop rather than a generic lamp sitting on top of it.

That design-first approach is the point. Instead of adapting a one-size-fits-all light bar to the iMac, BenQ built a version that fits the machine’s shape, color language, and minimal desktop aesthetic.
Built to Match the iMac
The iScreenBar uses an aluminum body and a glass touch panel, with a custom magnetic clamp that attaches to the back of the iMac. BenQ says the setup does not block the camera, microphone, or Apple logo, which matters on a product where clean lines are part of the appeal.
For iMac owners, that is the real value proposition. The desk light becomes part of the computer rather than an extra object competing with it.
Lighting Designed for Work
BenQ’s ASYM-Light optical system is built to illuminate the desk, not the screen. The company says the iScreenBar can deliver 500 lux across an area of 85 cm x 50 cm (about 33.5 x 19.7 inches), helping reduce glare while keeping the display comfortable to look at.
The accessory also includes a built-in presence detection system, so it can turn on automatically when someone is nearby or when the iMac wakes. BenQ says it supports USB-C one-cable connection, a dedicated video call mode, and a macOS control app for adjusting brightness, color temperature, and light mode.

That makes the iScreenBar more than a desk light. It is a monitor accessory built for users who spend long hours at a screen and want a cleaner, more controlled lighting setup.
A Small Product, a Very Specific Audience

The iScreenBar is not trying to be universal. It is clearly aimed at people who already chose the iMac for its design and want accessories that respect that choice.
For them, the appeal is obvious: a lighting solution that fits the display, avoids screen glare, keeps the camera area clear, and does not ruin the look of the desk. That is a narrower audience than a typical monitor light bar, but also a more focused one.
BenQ is selling the iScreenBar at an MSRP of $189. It is available now in silver, while blue and green versions will arrive in late 2026.
