ELEGOO M1 Ultra Delivers 0.02mm Scans Starting at $1,599

The ELEGOO M1 Ultra has officially launched with early bird pricing starting at $1,599 from October 29 through November 12, ahead of its standard $1,699 retail price. Designed for creators working across reverse engineering, digital archiving, and product customization, the all-in-one smart scanner introduces up to 0.02 mm metrology-grade accuracy alongside five flexible scanning modes. However, continuous wireless operation is capped at 1.5 hours per charge on its 4,800 mAh swappable battery pack.

Flexible Scanning Modes for Diverse Project Scales

The M1 Ultra incorporates five distinct scanning modes to cover a wide spectrum of physical dimensions and surface geometries. For medium-to-large objects, the system utilizes a 34-line blue laser array, while a denser 7-line blue laser mode captures fine surface details on small-to-medium parts. Deep cavities, narrow gaps, and hard-to-reach recesses are handled via a dedicated single-line blue laser mode. In addition, an infrared structured light mode enables scanning of human faces, full bodies, and general objects, complemented by a marker-free blue laser mode for surfaces where physical targets cannot be applied.

Hardware capabilities accommodate scan volumes ranging from 5 × 5 × 5 mm³ up to 4,000 × 4,000 × 4,000 mm³. The scanner also captures black and metallic reflective surfaces natively without requiring anti-glare coating sprays or developer powder, broadening its utility across industrial fabrication and workshop environments.

Metrology-Grade Optical Accuracy and Color Capture

For applications where tight dimensional tolerances are essential, the M1 Ultra achieves blue laser accuracy of up to 0.02 mm, paired with a volumetric accuracy rating of 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m. Consistent measurements are maintained through an all-glass optical assembly, intelligent temperature compensation, and factory-calibrated camera modules.

Visual fidelity is supported by 24-bit full-color texture mapping powered by on-device image signal processing (ISP) optimization. To reduce tracking loss and capture clean point clouds during handheld motion, ELEGOO integrated global-shutter cameras that minimize motion blur and geometric distortion.

Standalone Portability and Integrated Wireless Workflow

Built for field and tabletop portability, the M1 Ultra features an integrated 3-inch HD touchscreen for on-device controls and visual feedback, alongside Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for untethered data streaming. Its 4,800 mAh swappable battery delivers up to 1.5 hours of wireless handheld runtime, allowing users to transition between workstations without interrupting active jobs.

Data processing is managed via the companion ELEGOO SCAN software, which provides step-by-step guided setup, tracking assistance, and multi-scan point-cloud alignment. Automated one-click post-processing handles mesh wrapping, surface optimization, and color texture application. For seamless integration into computer-aided design and 3D printing pipelines, the software exports files directly in STL, OBJ, PLY, and ASC formats.

Pricing and Global Availability

The ELEGOO M1 Ultra is available globally starting October 29, 2026. Standard retail pricing is set at USD 1,699, EUR 1,699, GBP 1,399, CAD 2,399, and JPY 299,999. During the promotional early bird window ending November 12, the scanner is priced at USD 1,599, EUR 1,599, GBP 1,319, CAD 2,299, and JPY 284,999.

For engineering workflows and digital fabrication, does the ability to scan dark and metallic surfaces without powder spray justify integrating a standalone handheld scanner over traditional desktop setups?
