Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold Set for APEC Summit Debut, November Launch Rumored

Samsung appears poised to introduce its first-ever tri-fold smartphone, potentially named the Galaxy Z TriFold, with new reports from South Korea pointing towards an imminent reveal. According to industry sources cited by media outlets Chosun Ilbo and ETNews, the groundbreaking device is expected to make its debut at the end of October.

The initial showcase is reportedly scheduled for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will take place from October 31 to November 1. Samsung is expected to display the new phone within an exhibition space at the summit venue, offering a first look at the next evolution of its foldable technology.

Following this initial preview, a formal launch is anticipated to happen "as early as November." Reports also suggest that the initial production volume for the device will be relatively limited, at approximately 50,000 units. This figure is noted to be less than a third of the production volume for Samsung's other flagship glass and foldable smartphones, indicating a cautious rollout.

While Samsung has officially declined to comment on this specific timeline, the rumors align with previous statements from company executives. During the IFA 2025 exhibition in Berlin, Roh Tae-moon, President of Samsung's Mobile Division, revealed that the company's first tri-fold phone was in the "final stages" of development and was planned for a release before the end of 2025.

The combination of these reports and past confirmations strongly suggests that the Galaxy Z TriFold is on the verge of being officially introduced. The potential debut at a major international summit like APEC, followed by a swift commercial launch, signals Samsung's confidence in pushing the boundaries of the foldable device market even further.
