Suunto Race 3S Smartwatch Leaks: 2,000-Nit AMOLED Display, 45-Hour GPS Battery, and Double the Storage
Tech outlet NotebookCheck published leaked marketing material on October 5, 2026, giving us an early look at the upcoming Suunto Race 3S smartwatch. Here's everything we know so far.

Familiar Design, Refined Internals
The Race 3S sticks closely to the design language of 2024's Suunto Race S. It retains a 45mm case, 11.4mm thickness, and a lightweight 53g build. On the right side you'll still find two physical buttons paired with a digital crown. Durability remains a strong suit — the watch keeps its 5 ATM water resistance rating, built-in GPS, and onboard mapping apps.
The Big Upgrades
Display: The headline improvement is a new 1.32-inch AMOLED panel with a 466×466 resolution and a blazing 2,000-nit peak brightness — roughly 3x brighter than its predecessor's 600 nits, which should dramatically improve outdoor readability in direct sunlight. The lens material has also been upgraded from Gorilla Glass to sapphire crystal, offering far better scratch resistance.
Storage: Internal storage has doubled from 32GB to 64GB, giving users significantly more room for offline maps and local music.

Battery: GPS battery life jumps from 30 hours to 45 hours of continuous use on a full charge. Everyday battery life hasn't been disclosed yet — for reference, the Race S was rated at up to 5 days of typical use.

What to Expect
The Suunto Race 3S looks like a classic refinement: same beloved design, but with meaningful upgrades where outdoor athletes actually feel them — display legibility, durability, endurance, and storage. Suunto hasn't officially announced the watch or its pricing yet, so stay tuned for the official reveal.
