Redmi Buds 8 Active Leaked: Impressive 37-Hour Battery Life and 14.2mm Drivers Revealed

Recent leaks have pulled back the curtain on Xiaomi's upcoming entry-level earbuds, the REDMI Buds 8 Active. A series of detailed renders shared by the tech outlet YtechB on February 16th showcase the design and key specifications of the new device, which is expected to launch with an estimated price tag of €19.99.

Positioned as a more accessible option than the Lite version, the Buds 8 Active adopts a similar overall design language but makes a key change in fit. Instead of the in-ear design with silicone tips found on the Lite model, the Active version features a semi-in-ear (Open fit) structure for a different comfort profile. The earbud stems, however, retain the same familiar shape as their Lite counterparts.

According to the leaked renders, the charging case for the REDMI Buds 8 Active is virtually identical to that of the Lite version. It will be available in three classic color options: blue, black, and white, offering users a choice to match their style.

On the inside, the REDMI Buds 8 Active is expected to pack a significant audio punch with large 14.2mm dynamic drivers featuring titanium diaphragms. This hardware combination is typically engineered to deliver deep, rich bass and crisp, clear high-frequency details, promising a robust sound experience for its price point.

For connectivity and call quality, the earbuds will reportedly support the AAC high-definition audio codec. Furthermore, they are equipped with a dual-microphone AI system for call noise reduction and boast an impressive wind noise resistance of up to 6m/s, ensuring clearer conversations even in challenging environments.

Battery life appears to be a major highlight. Each REDMI Buds 8 Active earbud contains a 37mAh battery, while the charging case is equipped with a 475mAh battery. This setup is rated to provide approximately 7 hours of playback on a single charge. When combined with the charging case, the total endurance extends to an impressive 37 hours. Recharging the earbuds takes about one hour, and the case takes around 2.5 hours to fully charge.
