HyperX at CES 2026: Unveiling a TMR Arcade Controller and Magnetic Switch Keyboards

According to a report from Windows Latest, HP's gaming brand HyperX is gearing up for a major product launch at CES 2026, with a new lineup that spans controllers, keyboards, and a revamped software ecosystem. The upcoming releases signal a significant push into high-performance and customizable gaming peripherals, aiming to set new standards in the competitive gaming market.

First-Ever TMR Arcade Controller

Among the new products, the Clutch Tachi Leverless Arcade Controller stands out as a major innovation. Designed specifically for fighting game enthusiasts and featuring an Xbox logo, this device is the first in the arcade controller space to incorporate Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors. TMR is a high-precision sensor technology that utilizes quantum tunneling to detect magnetic fields, offering greater sensitivity, stability, and lower power consumption compared to traditional potentiometers or Hall effect sensors. Combined with built-in magnetic switches and an ergonomic layout, the Clutch Tachi aims to deliver zero-latency input and eliminate the friction of traditional mechanical parts. It also boasts a removable top panel and customizable RGB lighting for personalization.

Origins 2 Keyboard Series

HyperX is also set to launch a major update to its keyboard line with the Origins 2 family. The new series will include the 1800 (a compact full-size layout) and the 65 (a 65% layout), both featuring HyperX linear red switches and hot-swappable sockets. To enhance the typing experience, these keyboards incorporate an O-ring mount structure to reduce noise and vibration, and the polling rate has been boosted to 8000Hz to significantly decrease input latency. For hardcore competitive gamers, the flagship Origins 2 Pro 65 model will feature linear magnetic switches with Rapid Trigger technology. This allows users to customize the actuation and reset points of each key, providing an extreme level of responsiveness ideal for FPS and rhythm games. The series will also support 3D-printed case replacements for enhanced customization. Another model, the HyperX EVE 1800, was also mentioned, but detailed specifications are not yet available.

To support the new hardware, HyperX is testing a completely redesigned version of its NGENUITY software. The new Windows-only application features a more modern user interface and integrates advanced macro definitions, dynamic RGB controls, and an upgraded audio engine. Currently in its beta phase, this new software is expected to replace the existing 2020-2025 version upon its official release, serving as the central control hub for the entire HyperX ecosystem.
