    Obode A8+ review

Before starting, I must say that this is the first robot vacuum I own, so my closest references are battery-powered hand vacuums.

That said, the experience has been mostly great, with a couple of doubts and small issues:

    Package and unboxing 4.5/5

The robot and the accessories come in very organized different boxes, plenty of foam to assure that nothing moves and breaks, and great attention on the design of boxes.

Other than the robot, you will get 2 pairs of brushes, 2 mopping cloths, 2 EPA filters and if you got the plus model also 2 dust bags to insert in the self-emptying base.

Apart from the brushes, all of the other accessories has 1 already installed and one spare in a box, but don’t worry about brushes, because the installation is very lego-like.

    Design and build quality ⅘

Both the robot and and the base have a reassuring weight (buts still light enough if you have to carry it up the stairs), and both of them have well refined finishes, and all the buttons and switches have a nice feedback.

    App and setup ⅘

Setting all up is pretty easy and it’s probably doable by almost everyone, thanks to a simple start guide and clear instructions.

I must say I’m impressed by how good looking the app is, it’s also very intuitive and once you set all, the shortcuts found on the main interface are the ones you will use the most.

Here you can start/stop the cleaning and choose if you want the robot to vacuum only or mop too, and there’s different levels of power and…

    Obode A8 Tryout

    Hello there!

Here’s my first review on our amazing community!

    RATING: ⅘

    WHAT I’VE LIKED:

The product is well presented and it gives you the impression to be a high-tech product and, in facts, it’s what this robot is.

The box is also beautiful, as you can see in the pic below.

The design and aesthetic is so nice that it fits well everywhere in our home.

The charging station is small so you don’t have to think too much on where to place it.

So, that said… Let’s pass to the cleaning part!

It cleans well, it catches all the dust you might have and it will well understand your home spaces but…there’s a big BUT.

    WHAT I DISLIKED:

The app is not easily understandable and could not suit everyone.

It’s well done but, honestly, I would never think to buy it as a present to my parents.

THE APP AND THE ROBOT CONTROL:

I loved the app since I’m a tech enthusiast.

You can control everything from there, from the status of the tools to how many rooms of your home you wanna clean.

It will take approximately 80 minutes to map your home the first time (105mq) and it will recognize all the obstacles on its way.

Once it has mapped your home you can choose to clean it entirely or by rooms so it’s super useful.

The wheels easily pass the low obstacles, such as low chair legs and so on.

The mopping part is also something that I found so useful since I often don’t have time to mop my home around: you can dose by the app how much water you wanna use and so it will affect the cleaning…

    Obode A8 Review

As a remote worker who became independent from my parents’ house a year and a half ago, robot vacuums are a great tool that pleasantly helps me in cleaning my home, especially considering that I live alone.

Before I received the Obode A8, I had a Cecotec Conga 3290 Titanium, whose manufacturer’s suggested retail price was around 260€. I will use it as a reference to compare its performance.

    📦 Unboxing

The robot’s main box is enclosed in a cardboard box, which improves its protection during shipment.

Upon opening the main box, we find:

    Quick Start Guide

    Instruction Manual

Leaflet with recommended steps to use app

A pair of spare side brushes

2 pairs of side brushes, one to be installed on the robot and the other as spare part

2 mopping cloths, one installed on the robot and the other as spare part

2 HEPA filters, one installed on the robot and the other as spare part

    Cleaning brush

    Charging base

    Power adapter

The robot is perfectly protected in the box, especially the bumpers and the laser sensor.

Each side brush has a different color. This color is also reflected on the bottom of the robot, so you know exactly where to place each one.

The manuals are a pleasure to read. They are very well organized, with helpful illustrations. I like that it includes a section on maintenance and frequent problems, so that anyone can solve any problems that occur with the robot easily.

One thing I would like to highlight is the fact that Obode has created a premium experience for non…
